Available condoms make a difference.

Having condoms free and readily available as I was becoming sexually active had a positive effect on my life.  When I was in undergrad, condoms were out there, and we all carried them around.

That's why I'm so excited by Elexa's new "Buy a Box, Give a Box" campaign.

If you've been reading The SexySmart blog lately, by now you know about this awesomeness:

For every box of Elexa condoms purchased from now until December, the makers of Trojan  will donate a box of Elexa condoms to Gifts In Kind - a minimum of 1 million condoms – to help protect women in need. Gifts in Kind, the leader in the field of product philanthropy, will distribute these condoms to women across the United States who are at risk of STDs and unintended pregnancy and who may not have access to or the means for which to buy condoms.

What I know is that sex education and access to condoms when I was becoming sexually active made me comfortable and confident about taking charge of my sexual health.  We carried them in our purses - it didn't say anything about me I wasn't comfortable with, and I always had one on hand for a friend in need.

Not to mention I always scored points for the condom when playing the purse game (you get points for having miscellaneous items in your purse).

And OH, how much better would it have been to have Elexa condoms instead of the cheapy cheapies!

I'm with you Liz---guys have condoms in their wallets/glove boxes so why shouldn't we? A few months ago, I remember Elexa had those cute leather pouches to carry your spare condoms in (fits 2). It slid perfectly in my purse and I could find them instantly. I love great inventions...lol

Good point, Vixen. For so many years - particularly in college - I *always* had condoms on me just in case *anyone* needed them. I'm glad Elexa's got me back in that habit!

Hey NotCarrie, you can still buy a box! Give it to NotMiranda or NotSam, I'm sure one of them will use it...lol

That's awesome! Wish I could help out, but I just don't see much sex in my near future.
