Women Helping Women

Moxie has a great post on her blog about the power of positive thinking. She was walking down the street one day, thinking about a troubling conversation that she had just had with her father a few hours before, looking down and frowning. A woman passed her on the street and stopped her, saying with a smile, "Keep your head up, baby. Life's not so bad."

She was instantly brought back to reality. Just that comment enabled her to focus on all the positive things she had going for her and everything in her life that was going great versus the morose thoughts she had been thinking of moments before. Here are some thoughts directly from Moxie.

I've been reading a lot about The Law of Attraction and The Power of Intention, as many of you know. My affirmations have been manifesting themselves, one by one, and it's really pretty amazing (and a little spooky.) I can choose to focus on things my Dad said or I could choose to recognize all the amazing things that life has offered me in the past few months.

But the woman on the street was right. I was just exuding negative energy. I'm looking at her as a messenger of some sort, sent to me to remind me of all the great, positive things I have going for me. Know what? As soon as I turned and walked away from her, my mood felt completely different. I felt lighter. I couldn't wait to get home and get to work!

It's amazing how a comment from a stranger has the power to re-organize your focus keep you on the positive side. It's the same power that a smile has in brightening up your day. As women we should focus more on building each other up instead of tearing each other down. We should be more supportive instead of catty. We should enable each other to succeed, do better and be better. Perhaps if we banded together and helped each other instead of being divided by petty differences, envy, frienvy & men we could all accomplish more.

Have you ever had a random encounter with somoene like that? In what other ways can we help each other out?
